The CapeĀ  (and Our Event) Meets an Early Demise

Thank you all so much for your interest in our February 13th panel discussion and cocktail party with the team behind NBC’s The Cape. On Wednesday we received word that NBC has canceled the series. Episodes that have already been shot will continue to air, but production has ceased – much to the surprise of the cast and crew. The panelists, understandably, do not desire to talk about their just-lost love and livelihoods, and have withdrawn their participation in the event. So, no panel & party, we’re afraid.

But we have a Plan B! It’s been a while since we saw all of you “IRL” and we’d like to invite you to join us at The Good Luck Bar (‘cuz we could use some…) in Los Feliz on Sunday Feb. 13th from 8-10pm. The crowd is cute, the drinks are strong, and the parking is not a nightmare.

If you’ve purchased a ticket, you should have received an email regarding the refund process. Please email us at info@brainsofminerva.com if you have any questions.

One of the many great things, however, that came from organizing this event was deepening our relationships with our peers in the blogosphere who helped to get the word out and with all the great artists and vendors who’d planned to pitch in. Our heartfelt thanks to them:

Ladies, true, the pic is just too funny.

Let us know if you want to discuss future seminar collaborations.
I’m sure Brian directed you to the Performer Seminars website already for some ideas.

We have an expo that day, so if we are functioning by the evening, we’ll drop in. Would be nice to reconnect early on in 2011.

    Be BOLD,

As one of the participants of The Cape and the cancelled panel I just want to say that my experience on the show was one of the best I’ve had in my 35 years of professional life. And while I am so sad to see it end, we all have a bond that will last for a very long time. So the good experience we had, however abbreviated, will pay off later I’m sure. Very sad. Wrong. But the good ones have to count somehow!

Oh, that’s a total bummer! best wishes to the folks at the show, that’s so frustrating.

I’ll do my best to make the party!

That picture cracks me up! Sorry that the event didn’t work out. Think of all the practice you have for the next one though. ;p
