See You in June!

Since January, we’ve been on quite a tear producing content and expanding the Brains business. From publishing great articles like An Actor-Therapist on Making Your Thoughts Work for You to The Good, the Bad & the Ugly: a Vet’s Take on 30 Years of Auditioning to adding Services and sharing the Buzz, Minerva’s had a busy year. In order to blow off some steam,we partook of some raucous May Day celebrating (making fruit baskets, ringing door bells, kissing strangers, drinking cider…), and just haven’t been the same since. And so, we’ll be taking a little break in posting new content for the rest of the month.

We know lots of you joined us after the holidays, so please take a tour of the archives from September – December where you’ll find lots of great articles on The Breakdowns, demo reels, booking commercials and joining SAG, to name just a few.

Time flies and we’ll be back before you know it, but in the meantime here are some other sources of actorly wisdom that we’ve come across and are awfully fond of:

Playbillsvspayingbills.com
The Inside Acting Podcast
The Working Actress
The Everything Acting Podcast

On our break we’ll be planning some new formats & features for the summer. Subscribe to our email updates and follow us on Facebook & Twitter to stay in the loop. As always, your support is much needed – you can make a donation on the Support Us page, purchase a book in our shop, and post/pass along links to articles you find useful. We’ve also just launched an ad program – if your business would like to reach our readers, click on the Advertise Here link in the sidebar to find out more. And don’t be shy about emailing us with your ideas of what you’d like to see Minerva explore.

We’ll see you in June with great articles, news on our upcoming live event, and – yes, you’re reading this right – the introduction of our Sports Correspondent.

Stay Tuned!

I think the idea of a sports correspondent is fantastic. Why don’t you go all the way and have an International Sports Correspondent. He/she could cover the world cup and maybe Wimbledon.

Rudy – you have no idea how right you are! You’ll see….

Is yoga a sport? I hope it is.

  4. Porko on Tuesday 18, 2010

    Sports are stupid. I’m fat.

I couldn’t agree more with Porko. Sports are nothing more than engines designed to create losers. Please cancel my subscription.

Gimpy needs to chill out. Anyway how do I get a subscription?

    The special olympics are cool.

I see that this thread is taking a dangerous turn.
Sports are interesting. I think. But they can be politicized. Think of the 1938 Munich Olympics, Maybe we shouldn’t talk about sports. Maybe they should be something that we do. Or you do. Maybe we shouldn’t look too closely at sports. Do we really want to understand them? Sports are physical. They have an energy. They could attack us. They could do us harm.
